Her name echoes in the gospel music industry. She epitomizes excellence, talent and anointing. This woman of God is a singer, worship leader, vocal coach, teacher, preacher, conference host and speaker, wife and mother. From the tender age of 14, Latoya professionally commenced her musical journey, which led her on a skyrocketed adventure with world renowned gospel group The Grace Thrillers and later went on to work with various world renowned artistes and musicians.

She was nominated for Best Female Vocalist and Best Female Artiste for the year 2016. She has been on many tours in the North & South America, Caribbean, U.K, Asia and Europe. Her cover version of “You are God Alone” which took the airways by storm helped to provide various platforms for ministry. She has an E.P out bearing the songs “Never Let Go”, “Cry of a Worshipper”, “Victory Dance”, and “Heaven”. In 2020 she released her debut album titled ‘Your Way’ that won the Sterling Award for Album of the Year and was considered for a Grammy award in the category of ‘Best Gospel Album’.

Ordained as a credentialed minister at the Exhorter Rank in the Church of God, Latoya is on serious business for God. She has served the Kingdom of God in many capacities in Jamaica including Music Minister at the Clifton and Escarpment Road New Testament Churches of God and the first District Music Minister for the New Testament Church of God (Escarpment Road District of churches, overseeing the creative operations of 4 local congregations). She currently serves as the Minister of Administration, Music & Worship Arts at the West Toronto Church of God in Canada.

Latoya HD is the host and founder of the HeartCry Worship Conference & Experience which is held annually and geared towards training and empowerment for persons primarily involved in Music and Performing Arts Ministry.

Latoya is also a wife and a mother, married to Sharlon Downer for 17 years and they have one daughter.
